Livi Threaten Legal Action

STV are reporting that Livingston are threatening the SFa with legal action if they fail to take what the club feel to be appropriate action against Rangers.

Quote

http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/livingston/99924-livingston-threaten-legal-action-against-scottish-fa-over-rangers-situation/

Livingston have written to the Scottish Football Association warning they may take legal action if the governing body fails to act upon Rangers' financial woes appropriately.
STV understands the First Division club have outlined they would pursue up to £1.2m in lost revenue for their relegation to the Third Division in 2009 if the SPL side are not dealt with in a similar manner.
The decision to demote Livingston, who were in administration but in the hands of prospective buyers, was made by the Scottish Football League prior to the start of the 2009/10 season.
A failed appeal to the SFL was followed up by a submission to the Scottish FA, who ruled the punishment was fair and reasonable.
The governing body’s judicial protocol was given a complete overhaul last year and insolvent clubs, as well as any appeals processes, are now handled in a different manner.
Nonetheless, Livingston believe a precedent was set in the judgement and have now stated they are monitoring how the Scottish FA are handling the Rangers situation, as uncertainty over the future of the club continues.
If prospective buyer Charles Green is unable to strike a deal with creditors to take the club forward via a CVA, it is possible the businessman will pursue a ‘newco’ route to ensure the club continues as part of a new company.
The move, which would be unprecedented in Scottish football, would require Scottish FA approval to go through if the new company wished to inherit Rangers’ membership of the body and could be subject to further sanctions.
Rangers have already been punished by both the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA for being in administration, with the latter recently administering a 12-month registration embargo and fines reaching £160,000.
Rangers’ appeal against the Scottish FA’s sanctions, which were described as to have “struck a balance which was relevant to the mischief and proportionate to the breach” will be held on Wednesday.
The independent panel set up to consider the initial case against the club stated in their deliberations that "only match fixing in its various forms might be a more serious breach” than Rangers’ failure to pay tax contributions for employees, amongst other discrepancies.
Termination of Rangers’ membership to play football in Scotland was also considered at the time, something which was ruled to be “too severe” a punishment.
Both the Scottish FA and Livingston declined to comment on the letter.

Did Manchester City buy the Title?

Interesting thread going on the Daily mail website about this. As expected, Fergie and Man Utd mentioned more often than City but there is a valid discussion waiting to be explored on this.

A quick google and a wiki-peek highlights "The Citizens" good fortune of being United's "Noisy Neighbours". When they managed to climb successfully back to the top flight in 2002/03 they were still under the fiscal thumb of chairman David Bernstien and Sven Goran-Eriksson became the first foriegn manager in City's history in 2007 after regular mid-table finishes. He was quickly replaced by Mark Hughes in 2008 but it was August 2008 that really defines City's success story.

The Abu Dhabi United Group's first signing was Brazilian, Robinho from Real Madrid for a record £32.5 million. That season saw them climb to 10th in the EPL and reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. Obviously, the Arabs saw the route to success was defined and in the summer of 2009 a whopping £100 million+ was spent on players and the flavourable Roberto Mancini from Italy's Internazionale of Milan. That season they finished 5th in the EPL, narrowly missing a Champions League spot.

Why stop there? Prior to season 2010/11, City bought Boateng, Yaya Touré, David Silva, Kolarov and Balotelli with James Milner joining during the first week of the season. This brought the FA Cup and 3rd in the EPL ahead of Arsenal that season and more incentative for spending for season 2011/12.

City splashed out a further £74 million for Gaël Clichy, Stefan Savic, Sergio Agüero, Samir Nasri and Owen Hargreaves whilst taking in around £27 million reducing the star-packed squad.

The current squad boasts some very big earners and after winning the EPL after 44-years, where do the Abu Dhabi United Group draw the line? Is there a line?

Listen, the question here is simply, did Manchester City buy the title? I'm not judging them nor am I asking you to do so. Good luck to them and well done.

That said, what are the lesson's to be learned and what are the pitfalls that must be avoided or are unavoidable?

QPR's Joey Barton could face at least a 10-game ban after being charged by the FA for two acts of alleged violent conduct at Manchester City on Sunday.
He was sent off for an incident involving Carlos Tevez but faces the two charges following clashes with both Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany.
As Barton had already been dismissed both incidents fell outside of the jurisdiction of the referee.
Barton has until 18:00 BST on Tuesday, 15 May to respond to the charges.

Follow Follow

I have noticed some pretty horrendous comments on the Rangers forum 'Follow Follow' over the last year and have only ever mentioned it once in a post when i thought it was in context with the OP, over the last couple of days however and coinciding with visit of the Thai Tims I have been left feeling shocked at the mindset of some of the forum members and the lack of action being taken and lack of media interest in reporting about the site.

Some of the recent comments on the site left me feeling sickened and the reason i am now bringing it to the forum is because its not one or two moronic fans, its a huge swathe of them and i think it should be discussed openly and not hidden away like some taboo.

Predictably there will be some folk defending the indefensible and will use the tit for tat argument of saying that 'our fans (celtic fans) are just as bad' so i would to get the elephant out of the room to start with and say that If any of the comments that have caused this feeling of disgust were to be posted on any Celtic fan site i can confidently say the poster would be banned and possibly reported to the police. If anyone can show me comparably offensive behaviour then I will retract that particular point.

I would like to know if any forum members on here are registered members of follow follow and i would like to know what they think of that forum and if they ever contact the moderators to report shocking behaviour.

Does anyone know the proper way to report this website, i.e. is there a special police number set in place to report this sort of thing for example?

I believe the site should be closed down, it is clearly a forum for sharing evil and hatred, It appears the behaviour is allowed by moderators.

I don't want to post the comments on here yet as they are truly awful and WILL cause offence to anyone with a civilised nature.

I'm not going to lie, I'm hurting like hell right now, that was very hard to take. To be THAT close and have it taken away is eating me up but you can't take anything away from City, they have been excellent for most of the season. Superb squad who have lit the league up at times and in the end they were just too good for us..........we will be back!

Four years ago the mass exodus was well under way, tens of thousands of Rangers fans heading for Manchester to see Rangers take on Zenit St Petersburg in the final of the UEFA Cup.

The match was played on the 14th May & alas Zenit were victorious, however four years on who could have imagined that Rangers would find themselves in the position that they are.

Administration for three months, great uncertainty over what the future holds.

The state of pitches

Alright guys, im writing a paper which i will be submitting to the council for university and its on the provision of football pitches.

Basically just asking if pitches are up to a decent standard in terms of pitch quality price, changing rooms etc.

I cant promise that pitches will suddenly get better, but i can promise that it might make a difference

Its mainly to do with Renfrewshire but if you're in the surrounding areas (Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire, East Renfreshire etc.) then it's be good if you could do it too...

Id really appreciate it if you took 2 minutes to do it and hopefully it will help both you and me

If you have any questions feel free to ask but its a pretty simple box tick box thing with a few comment boxes if you wish, so hopefully you'll have no problems

Thanks and heres the link -
