We've got a what you listening to thread? in music section so I thought I'd start this one.

I watched City of Men last night. It was enjoyable enough but I preferred City of God.

Over the past couple of days I've watched Contagion and Men in Black 3.

City of Men was also a TV series that ran for 4 seasons in 2002,3,4,5.

Had very high ratings.

Common sense

I watched The Perks of being a wallflower last night and thought it was an excellent film .

It's a coming of age tale of a young boy's first year in an American high school and is set in the 80s .

Fine performances from all the cast and a very touching  story about the troubled boy's struggle to find acceptance and love

.A good one for Gus and his missus .icon_razz.gif

my 2 daughters went to see that and they thought it was brilliant too.

i watched 2 on sky the last cpl of nights.

The Escapist - Brian Cox as an ageing prisoner who gets bad news about his daughter and plans an escape....couldnt really get into it in all honesty, seemed very disjointed.

The Matador - Piece Brosnan & greg Kinnear - brosnan stars as a hitman who is losing his focus and kinnear is a travelling salesman...they meet by chance in mexico and become "buddies"...i thought it was a very good watch

Also watched Pitch Perfect at the weekend . What can i say i was bored and couldn't find anything on the usual outlets that i hadn't already seen .

College Acappella groups fight it out to see who can be the best . Didn't fill me with much hope of getting through the full film . BUT

It's actually very funny . And some of the singing is brilliant .Ignore the fact that there is a plot you have seen a million times and you will have a decent 90 minutes or whatever it is .

Another one for gaining kudos points from the better half .

I thought the same about the Escapist John . Should have and could have been a lot better . Struggled to hold any interest in it .

Don't think i've seen the other one .

Brave was the last fresh film I watched. Very Scottish, which I liked. The girls hair was amazing. I don't know they do it, but it was so vibrant and bouncy. I would recommend for one watch, but I wouldn't buy the DVD, because its not the kind of thing you will watch again and again.

What's the problem with the Film Reviews thread.  Seems like a duplicate to me.

I'd say they are different. It's a bit like music section which has what you listening to thread and most recent albums bought.

On the recommendation of a mate I watched The Lady Killers. I would more than likely have loved this movie years ago but it's seriously dated now. Superb cast too

Gentlemen, you should never pay for a movie ever again unless you go to a theater.  Everything is free on the internet and in copious quantities.

You've piqued my interest in old films.

I remember seeing the original Lady Killers many moons ago. Must have a search to see if I can find a copy.

This is a decent one, gentlemen.   Regarding home invasion with Val Kilmer.   The trailer:

By the way, if you reference a movie selection, it would be a good idea to post a youtube trailer for fellow forum-goers.

I watched FrankenWeenie this morning . Another brilliant animation from Tim Burton . The guy certainly has style .

A homage to some of the classic horror films of the past . A beautiful film and a real labour of love from Burton .
