The Chrome extension is now at version 0.6. For those with it already installed, it will update silently. For those who don't have it, it's free - https://chrome.googl...gciamfndlfbnnob

I base the functionality largely on how I use it, or how I would want to use it. Maverick gave me a different perspective when he mentioned  that he used it to navigate to SFF, rather than just for the latest topics. I have therefore added a few links into the button popup. The notification at the bottom right of the screen remains unchanged.

If there is anything that you would like to see in the extension, then just ask. I can't guarantee that I can do it, or whether I know how to do it, but if it's a good idea, I will look into it.

It won't affect your PC adversely. It simply checks if there is a new topic once every ten minutes. If there is a new topic, it pops up an alert at the bottom right of your screen. That's the feature I like the most about it. It also allows you to easily see a list of the latest topics via a small button next to the address bar.

Visit https://chrome.googl...gciamfndlfbnnob and click the button to add the extension to Chrome.

If you don't like it, you can easily remove it.

This has stopped working. I think I have a fix, but it won't be live until Thursday.

Have you tried switching it off and putting it back on again?

Google has arbitrarily decided to deactivate any Chrome extensions that did not come from the Google Store.

This has been done to "protect" Chrome users.

My extension is on the store.

The problem is that they stopped a feature from working. They may have tried telling me, but I didn't know they were removing it.

The notification is working again. It's now at version 0.7.

Unfortunately I had to remove the ability to click the popup at the bottom right of the screen.

You can download the extension for free at the Chrome store.
