Spent more money than Ferguson on average per season yet we're accused by some of buying titles.
Should have had more success and I'm still bamboozled as to why they continued to back him. Moyes has won more trophies at United in six months than Wenger has in the last eight years.

I agree a 1-0 defeat would look like a decent result but they could really be doing with a goal

Well Fergie was frugal too. There a several managers that have more trophies than Wenger :) But still, good positive football philosophy.

Bloody typical that both bets that I tipped come in when I don't bet them myself.

A one goal defeat after all this will feel like a victory of sorts.

Am I sensing not a lot of love for Wenger on here otherwise? Decent managerial attitude, believes in youth, modest spender. Deserves more success than he's had.

Im not a fan of Wenger this is gonna sound harsh but  he gets too much credit for being mediocre  he should consider himself lucky to be employed given his failings.

Bayern to win and Wenger to moan double for me. Although, I hope Arsenal win and Wenger still moans.

Thought Wenger kept his moaning to a minimum tonight.  Glad they got pumped right enough

His record IS poor, but Arsenal along with United are the two teams I make an effort to watch. Entertaining. Though Arsenal always seem to falter. Lack some British backbone. They used to have, but no more.

I heard that the tickets were £135 tonight. Mindboggling. Game of the common man my Arsenal.

Bayern subsidised the cost for their fans who were going.

A further example of the Premiership being the best in the world :-D

Another of their top sides getting completely humped in their own backyard.

Read the Tony Kroos made more passes than the entire Arsenal team.

Was a stat on the BBC that had 2nd half possession at around the 90% mark for Bayern

Looked a stonewall red card and penalty for me, as much as Robben made the most of it.

Second night in a row the English team have gone down to ten men and almost got away with only a single goal defeat. I think the difference here is that Man City at least have a chance of putting something together in the second leg if they can get Aguero back and exploit Barcelona's poor defence. I don't see what Arsenal can do to improve and I don't think Bayern are as weak at the back.

always nice to see teams from the self proclaimed best league in the world coming up short despite their hundreds of millions to spend.

Underlines once again that the game we love is a team game

To be fair, Barcelona and Bayern are not short on cash themselves.

I really like how Arsenal and Wenger build teams. Probably too many French lads, but it’s retro stuff for the most part by bringing through youth talent.

Be fun if they score first and wish them well.

Btw anyone abroad (again), try downloading the app filmon tv from filmon.com

Lots of UK channels stream in spite of my foreign IP address. Should show Arsenal on ITV in pretty good quality.

Don't know if this only works in the UK but worth a shot.

I get an advisory on my MacBook, Gus. May be just benign, but worth thinking about  ;-)
