With that attitude we may as well just all give up and give Celtic the trophy on opening day of the season.

Certainly not, but I think they'll win relatively easy again next season. You have a great platform to build on right now and may win two cups.

Need Celtic to be poor and a good few teams to make a fight of it.
This time last year we were playing the Arabs trying for top six

Is putting money into the dons from a business man worth a return ?

No. It is rare for anyone to make a return on football investment

Check the story of the team sponsor team recruitment. Oil money going back to the club from that route. Also shell sponsor a lot of youth stuff have done for years

Aye, but a more substantial investment would bring the club right into the mix and would be a massive lift for the town

It's a dream Aberdeen have had for years, but would rather a small but constant investment than a big one off with the promise of more.

I wasn't really thinking of a big one off investment. Even £1m a year would make a great difference. That's coppers in oil money and if it improves the team, the numbers through the gates go up and everyone's a winner

A point perhaps being missed is the cost of setting up and maintaining a scouting network across Europe and beyond. Guessing this will cost 500k per annum.
Until Aberdeen can sink this capital then they will be buying locally or players at the end of their career. Celtic being able to do this means they always have the chance of uncovering a gem that can be sold at huge profit

Yep, that is why the youth structure is so important and needs any investment.

Let's be honest here, Aberdeen won't win the league. They might put up a bit of a challenge for a short while, but the outcome will be the same - Celtic Champions. We all know that only one club can stop Celtic. The Championship is going to be exciting next season with Hearts and Gers (and hopefully others) fighting it out. I then expect Hearts and Gers to be playing in the Premiership the following season.

Youth development is certainly the key. McInnes has done well though also bringing in Flood, Robson and Rooney on free transfers.

Can they win it? Yes.

Will they? Dont think so.

For all they have been very good, at times, this season it is important to remember the previous few campaigns too. One swallow does not a summer make.

The youth set up seems promising, but then so does Celtic's.

Keep feet on the ground, show consistency and see what happens... this also applies to Motherwell and Dundee United.
