I thought I'd start this to welcome Dundee back. Good to see them in top flight as have decent sized support.

I remember back in the days when it was competitive the league was won by Dundee 61-62.

They had a great side then with the likes of Alan Cousin, Andy Penman, Hugh Robertson, Alan Gilzean, Alex Hamilton, Bobby Seith, Gordon Smith and Ian Ure.

On a very foggy Saturday at Ibrox they gave Rangers a 1-5 drubbing. It was disappointing as a spectacle because most of Dundee's five goals were scored at the Copland Road end and most of their fans were behind the goal at the Broomloan Road end from where the other goal was invisible.

It was said at the time that the match should have been postponed, and probably today it would be.

Goalkeeper Scott Bain has signed from Alloa and Kevin Thomson has signed after being released by Hibs.

great signing.....Butcher clearly doesn't have an eye for a player if he thought Kevin Thomson wasn't a player

Thomson was certainly a player before his injuries caught up with him. Not so sure now. McPake has signed too.

6 out so far and 3 not to bad in, with still more to come, looks like quite a young and hopefully hungry team for the new season.

Another 5 shown the door at Dens today, 3 first team regulars, Conroy, Bennidictus and Rilley along with 2 reserves, Hartley reckons they were not SPL QUALITY,

LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE MORE NEW FACES still to come in. 8-)

Just wonder what the wage budget is for Dundee this season. Thomson and McPake signed very quickly so they must have been quite happy with the terms on offer. Either that or they felt that no-one else on a similar level were going to come on for them.

as the say goes, beggars can't be chasers, maybe they were just happy to get a job so quick

i am hoping for the same, there seems to be more optimism around these days, more than many years, am hoping to see some sort of revival this season

The game against Man. City tomorrow, will give a little guidance as what is going to happen this season, although most of their world cup players won't be there, its a fairly strong looking bunch they have brought up, Dundee are expecting a crowd of about 7000, my guess for the game, 2-0 city

Half time.... Dundee 2, Manchester City 0.

finished 2-0, not a bad start to our season, even if they had 7 reserves playing
