I know it works through WiFi but our connection isn't great.

The lad wants it for Christmas. Are we better off with a booster box?

If I were you, I would buy a power line adapter. They are cheap as cheaps and very reliable. Plug one in next to your router and the other next to your Xbox.

Thanks. I will have a look in to that. Is it just cables in to the router and Xbox as opposed to an ethernet cable?

What type of XBox is it for?

There are a lot of ways to make the connection more reliable, you can buy a better router than the pieces of garbage the likes of BT provide.

Or you can buy a wifi repeater:

Both are much tidier than long wires. I solved the problem by getting BT to install a line extension (£129) to what is the middle of the house and a better Router. It was expensive, but a permanent solution to a permanent problem.

It's for a Xbox One.

It's a horrible system so far, not that the PS4 has been much better. Only one or two decent games on each system. The Wii U has a much better collection of games. But they are still relatively new systems and plenty of time for them to get a few good games. But their hardware inside them are behind 5 years on a current gen gaming PC.

I find the BT home hub 4 to be pretty good in my house. It is a new build, so the walls being thin may help.

I had the old Sky router and it was rubbish. They have since updated it, but can't comment on how good it is now.

We left FIFA to load overnight in the end and it still hadn't fully installed. The wrestling game had even though we started installing that after.
