Caledonian Amateur League club Cumbernauld Colts, who share Broadwood Stadium with Clyde, have beaten off competition from five other applicants to be given a place in the Lowland League, boosting the number of clubs to 15 for next season.(Daily Record)

The introduction of the complete pyramid must be a massive driver for clubs like this. It's very unlikely, but within five years they could be in the top tier. Regardless of how likely that is, it must be in their minds. It's a wee bit like the Scottish Cup, where even the smallest teams are only a few games away from a day out at Hampden.
