Apparently there was a licensing dispute, so Rangers will not be appearing in FIFA 16. It all seems a little silly to me. Who is at fault?

I don't think it's a big deal to be honest.

I noticed a petition has been started with some Rangers fans planning to boycott game.

Wanting to play as your team seems like a fairly common occurrence to me.

Do you ever play as Aberdeen?

Irrespective where Rangers play at the moment they have a HUGE fan base who will want to play this game. "EA Sports - Rangers NOT in the game" (see what I did there)

Own goal on EAs part if you ask me

There are plenty teams who are not in it. I'm pretty sure they don't boycott game because of it.

I only play it occasionally.

Do those other teams have the same following as Rangers? Are they regarded by many as being the most successful club in the world?

The whole Brazilian league wasn't in it last season.

I didn't know that. How many of those teams have a similar following as Rangers?

Isn't this all because Mike Ashley owns the IPR and not Rangers? It's not EA's fault if they legally can't use the trademarks. Their hands are tied.

Maybe they should try the good old days of a blue team called Glasgow with players with oddly familiar names.

Griggs is always a name that comes to mind.

Prior to this situation, I would have thought that the SPFL would hold the rights options for games such as this.

If Ashley is involved, I think it's unfair to blame him entirely without knowing the full story. His asking price may be fair, or it may not be. EA may be using their clout to drive a hard bargain; take it or leave it.
