If people don't like the 'like' button then why do they still use it?

They do like it..... that is why it is used daily.....

The problem with the button has been pointed out, as you know.

Mock bewilderment seems a strange angle at this stage.

I've seen people like posts on either side of the so called divide.

There are people on here who previously got on who are now falling out on a regular basis or insulting each other.

I think there needs to be more respect for others on here.

I think if the insults stopped that would help.

I do too Jay, people need to stop siding with others just because they don't like this one or that one.
Not being given Intentionally antagonistic to get a reaction will help too......yeah sure sometimes we will say something that annoys people that is not meant to annoy but just an opinion. Too often that is not the case and when you read posts and threads I personally think it's easy to tell which is designed to get a reaction.

People will fall out, of course we will but let's not fall out because we had a disagreement and have carried it on for xxx days, weeks, years.

Will take the cooperation of everyone to be a part of the solution and not the problem.

I think it will be hard for some bridges to be built when some insults have became personal.

Does that not work both ways so why the bleating or acting Mr Innocent on the like button?

It's shouldn't be really Jay. For example I have personally had a few issues with various memyers, won't mention names or what was said but I have been insulted, had questionable things said about me, had to contend with stiff resistance on a number of subjects etc and all for simply giving my opinion and not once did I attack fellow posters on the forum.....respect was some thing I was not given.
Now I dont hold that against people, some folk would have given what was said to me personally but I don't.

If I can forget and get on with it then I'm sure others can too.

Fair play. Would you converse with people in day to day life who had insulted you personally?

Actually yes and I have done but that the type of character I am......and to be honest their are not too many folk where that has been the case but yeah I would still shoe respect even if they can't.

I have suggested to Goanjock that we bury our differences and move on.

I can only assume that the lack of response constitutes a negative.
