Got to say that with a good bunch of players they have simply not preformed well enough in trying to qualify for Euro2017.

Best news in ages

I went along last Friday to watch them (missed the first 25 mins) and we had a good team on the pitch and were the better side for the whole game against the group leaders Macedonia but just couldn't find the net.

So was really surprised last night, when we got humped by Ukraine, he had made so many changes to the team.

Suppose one of the problems is that the full team has to snatch a batch of the u21s (McKay, Paterson, Burke, McGinn, Hamilton, Tierney)

I think that's an issue with most under 21 teams. They have to have a very good relationship with the senior team to try and work out how best to manage it.

I think it's really useful though if they can get the great experience of being at a championships at an early age.  Look at Rashford for England U21's last night, he bagged a hat-trick and has played for the full team 3 times before.

May be if a real good nucleolus of young guys all stuck together and formed a good team we would see success in later years. Man Utd's "class on 92" being the prime example!

Yes but, of the players left, we have a number of players who have played for their Premier League or Championship clubs this season:

Ryan Fraser - Bournemouth

Oliver McBurnie - Swansea

Stephen Kingsley - Swansea

Donald Love - Sunderland

Stephen Hendrie - Blackburn

Not to mention the "big names" of youth Scottish football such as - John Souttar, Ryan Gauld, Liam Henderson, Ryan Christie, Billy King, Sam Nicholson, Jason Cummings.

And the players he left out such as Ryan Fulton, Stuart Findlay, Matthew Kennedy, Jack Harper, etc.

Despite "losing" a few talents to the senior squad, there is plenty of quality still available in the squad. If the likes or Ryan Fraser, Stephen Kingsley and Donald Love are good enough to play most weeks for their Premier League clubs, they should be good enough for an under-21 team. If Oliver McBurnie can score 3 goals in 3 games this season and Jason Cummings 6 goals in 7, then we should have enough firepower to get at least one goal from two games.

Sbragia really fucked up somewhere if he couldn't get a result from these players.

Sbragia...

Most unusual / uncommon surname, never came across it before. Anyway he did seem to be doing a decent job until this last while. Had a pretty good pedigree from previous jobs.

Never liked him since he joined up with the U21s and had my doubts about him when he was with the U19s.
