Wee bit of history for Ayr Utd, being the first team to take advantage of the new 4th sub rule in extra time.

A bit of trivia there. I feel that having three subs for the entire game means that managers have to be savvy when it comes to using them. Bring the final one on with 15 mins to go to go for the win, or save it, just in case it goes to extra time? It's a gamble. Now they have that safety net, so why not use all your subs in normal time?

Does the rule not state that the 4th. sub may only be used IF extra time is necessary?
