Mesmerising what the money for qualification is for a Scottish team who according to TB were humiliated and dismissed by the others in the group.

Yup 7-0 against best team in the world and 1-0 loss in the qualifiers hurt at the time but feel no pain now.

Brendan will get a nice well deserved bonus Im sure

No doubt about the cash on offer..... also been pointed out, the cash is more important than a trophy......to some.

But Trav is correct about the humiliation it brings to Celtic, maybe it goes over their heads, but other judge their CL games differently.

Think you will find the majority of Hoops fans - the ones who matter with their view on Celtic - would rather have the £30m to ensure there won't be any closiing of the gulf

Absolutely Chappy...... I get that.

On another point, what would that do to Scottish football as a whole though?

Even if we never got the money we would still be miles ahead, this way it stays the same but other clubs benefit from miney off it

scottish football as a whole needs to look after itself in the same way each club does whats in their best interest LB. The one thing you have probably picked up is that Scottish football doesnt do the greater good very well.

I think you will find I was very complimentary about Celtics results in the group stage.

It is a fact they were utterly embarrassed in Gibraltar

It is a fact that Celtic suffered their heaviest ever defeat against Barca.

But don't let facts get in the way

wheresoeverwhensoever and howsoever we are called upon to make our exit. We shall do so as free men.

did I not mention these two scores and then said how little they actually mean now to Celtic fans?

So what have i let facts get in the way of?

Really? Looking at that if you didn't get the money from the Champions League then at least two players would have to be sold at very healthy profits just to break even. Or am i reading this all wrong?

You are reading it all wrong as usual , 30m circa for CL , if we never qualified still 31m in profit ir is my mathematics all wrong?

I said at the time i didn't expect Celtic to get a point but it was all down to qualifying and anything after that is just a bonus. The money is just mental now and is exactly why Celtic and any other club side from a league outside the Top 5 nations is going to find it far more difficult to get there. The bastards want it all to themselves and to hell with the rest.

It is far too late to try and start doing this profit / loss nonsense

Celtic make £30 million from Champions League.

Celtics profit £20 million

If they didn't make Champions League would they have made a £10 million loss?
