I would just like to correct an earlier post where I stated City's youth set up was starting from a long way behind Uniteds. It now seems that was factually incorrect and City actually have the most successful Youth set up.
This admitting you are wrong is fun sometimes

The above is correct Norn but you keep digging.

Seems I was wrong again. United didn't pay 100 million Euros it was actually 105 million Euros 😂

wheresoeverwhensoever and howsoever we are called upon to make our exit. We shall do so as free men.

Strange why you only go back to 1998,Utd's famous youth policy goes all the way back to the 30's

The Manchester United Academy was established in 1998, following the reorganisation of youth football in England, but has roots stretching all the way back to the 1930s with the establishment of the Manchester United Junior Athletic Club (MUJAC). and has been responsible for producing some of Manchester United's greatest ever players, including the club's top five all-time appearance makers, Ryan Giggs, Bobby Charlton, Bill Foulkes, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, and the new wave of home-grown talents known as Fergie's Fledglings. The current academy is based at the club's Aon Training Complex, an 85-acre (340,000 m2) site in the Manchester suburb of Carrington.

The Manchester United youth team is statistically the most successful in English football, with nine players in the English football Hall of Fame (Duncan Edwards, Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best, Nobby Stiles, Mark Hughes, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Johnny Giles). Manchester United also have the best FA Youth Cup record, winning on 10 occasions out of 14 final appearances.

Funnily enough they were in Manchester at the weekend and thought they were in London. United have been in Salford for years and think they are in Manchester :P

That balance of power may well be shifting though Norn.
No doubt a very small percent of that crowd were actually fans, people I would call a fan like yourself.

With all the years Utd have been poor and not winning it will no doubt effect the popularity of these so called fans who will start wearing the shirt of the most popular at the drop of a hat.

This game and the other silly competitions you see going on involving the teams from the EPL so the popularity of the league in far flung places. As the money and investment is steady and in most cases increasing the clamour for the EPL increases.

Not a dig or bash at the league before dug jumps in ;-) but are these teams in danger of losing their identity as it seems to me they are.

Before we know it they may well turn into one of these American sports teams who move from City/state to city. How can there be an identity with that ? Seen one of the teams, LA something returning to LA after spending X amount of years in some other state known as a different team.

Is the English game and some clubs in danger of becoming like that ?? Seems a possibility as they will clearly go where the money is.
