SPFL scrap Old Firm Hogmanay fixture
The SPFL have decided against scheduling the Old Firm derby on Hogmanay in future after bars and restaurants complained of a drop in revenue.
It is believed people stay indoors last year because they were concerned with running into crowds of football fans following the game.
Warburton wants Hyndman
Mark Warburton wants to get one over on his old club Rangers by signing Emerson Hyndman this summer.
The Nottingham Forest boss will look to bring the midfielder to the City Ground after his loan spell at Ibrox expires. Celtic are also said to be interested in the player.
United consider £10m offer for Tierney
Manchester United are considering an offer of £10m for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.
The Old Trafford club have been watching the player closely, even going so far as to enquire about his off-field habits and are very impressed by what they’ve learned.
Although, it is thought Celtic will demand more for their teenage full-back.
Rangers pay double wages of Aberdeen
Rangers pay over double the amount of wages to the average player as Aberdeen, according to the latest salaries survey released by Sporting Intelligence.
The Ibrox club are said to have spent an average of £316,888 per player, with Derek McInnes’ side only paying theirs an average of £134,670.
Swanson and Foster to escape SFA punishment
St Johnstone’s fighting team-mates Danny Swanson and Richard Foster will not face any further punishment by Scottish football’s governing body as there is no footage of their altercation on the New Douglas Park pitch.
The pair are still awaiting the outcome of a club investigation.
McCulloch might need to face Rangers
Kilmarnock caretaker boss Lee McCulloch has joked he may need to lace his boots up again to face Rangers on Wednesday night, such is the extent of the Rugby Park injury list.
The 38-year-old revealed that only eight players were able to train on Monday and it would likely be the same number today.
