Bit of a strange one, not the sacking, as they had lost 7 games in a row but Dundee where actually doing very well under Hartley till about the end of Feb but since then they have plummeted down the league and now sit 2nd bottom.

Don't mean to belittle the situation but there will be another job for him along the line some time soon.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind!

yup, he has a pretty impressive managerial career already and he has only been a manager for 6 years.

Got Alloa back into the 2nd Division after they got relegated, then won them promotion again the following season.

Went to Dundee and won the Championship and promotion back to the Premiership.

Was doing really well with Dundee till they sold all their best players.

Aye just shows you how fickle football in general can be, they talk about supporters etc but owners can be even worse. I mean what are they expecting him to do, win the title ? As you said if you sell your best players then what can you expect.

I believe they are better than their position shows but sometimes a run of bad luck and results can have a rather bad effect...........they are having that effect I feel.

Not a popular guy in Scottish football but I've always had a lot of time for Hartley. Good honest professional as a player and he's got a very decent record as a manager.

Manager of the month February sacked a few games later.

wheresoeverwhensoever and howsoever we are called upon to make our exit. We shall do so as free men.

He's put on quite a bit of weight since his playing days.

He's put on quite a bit of weight since his playing days.

So much for healthy eating! Dundee football after training lunch serves 800-calorie 'heart attack pie' stuffed with bacon, sausage, black pudding, egg and beans - next to the training ground where youngsters are still doing their 'health retaining' routines.
The boss usually asks for second helpings.
