Hairy.....years ago when Roger Mitchell was in charge of the SPL he turned down...yes, turned down an astronomical offer from SKY far far in excess of what Scottish football now receives believing he could do better with his own idea which sunk. Now if that offer had been taken then it obviously would have grown over the years.
Now there is something we do agree on, and the quality in the league at that time was pretty good with Rangers and Celtic with squads more than capable of coping in the EPL.........English money more than doubled during this period btw which is why he tried for a better deal and rightly so given the situation where the English clubs were starting to reap the rewards and move up that ladder because of you know who but I agree with your point about Mitchell....hindsight is a wonderful thing and now the game down south is on another.level. Hard to believe the difference in such a short space of time.
