An excellent documentary, Tom Holland has written books on the subject.

Strange to discover that the Yazidi are considered devil worshippers and more hated than the religion's 'of the book'.

Some scenes were harrowing, especially the lady talking about the Yazidi in Parliament and the deserted town 80 miles away from Mosul.

Very interesting.

I found it very interesting too.

With the Yazidi being considered devil worshippers, you've got to wonder what came first the definition of devil worship in the Qu'ran or the rituals and practices of the Yazidi. If it's the latter, then you can surely conclude that whoever defined it simply didn't like or disagreed with the Yazidi and they have suffered ever since.

Panda the documentary made it clear that the Yazidi's culture was years older than the Islamic culture.

The 'Holy War' justification has been used to justify all sorts of barbarism.

The guy Tom Holland gave a very good view and visiting the Cleric made it clear how entrenched the views are.  People interpreting a book for their own ends and apparently God's Word transcends Human Law.  Crazy stuff!

The Bible has the 10 commandments and they are good words to live by but our Laws are based on Roman Law and work fairly well.  If the Bible was to become the law where would that end?

Must've missed that bit. Surely my conclusion is likely to be correct then.

The Ten Commandments aren't all that great.
  1. You shall have no other Gods but me. (part of the problem)
  2. You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it. (part of the problem)
  3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. (part of the problem)
  4. You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy. (part of the problem)
  5. Respect your father and mother. (of course, unless they are undeserving)
  6. You must not commit murder. (of course)
  7. You must not commit adultery. (of course)
  8. You must not steal. (of course)
  9. You must not give false evidence against your neighbour. (of course)
  10. You must not be envious of your neighbour's goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbour. (i can see why envy causes problems, however it can also motivate)

There are a lot more than ten commandments in The Bible. Moses just got the promo version.

how can you fight a sect that are intent on killing themselves anyway?

the IRA gave a warning of a bomb ( not excusing it ) but at least theres a chance , the IRA had a end game , to try free Ireland

dont take the above as an excuse to make that alright, the point i am getting at is these fools today have no end game apart from killing everyone anywhere , its impossible to fight , and especially now europe let some many "refugees" into europe WITHOUT" vetting.

Diehard Liberal , don't detest thon player detest thon game.

That of course is a distinct possibility, and would of course render all such commandments invalid.

Still some stuff within the Bible worth noting but most people in this world have a moral compass .

Bible at the least is a guide, not necessarily a code.

No argument about that.
