Is that a new album from cage the elephant? Their first album was superb and I can't believe it seemed to slip under the mainstream radar

I will definitely be buying it. Thanks for the heads up.

New albums this year that I can't wait for include the strokes, arctic monkeys and beady eye. The latter who I'm going to see at the barras.

Beady eye is oasis without noel.

Pm me the site for the music and I will check it out. I am normally a fan of the legal download or purchase of the cd from an online site, but I'm open to new approach

Been meaning to look into this one. Although some reviews have been somewhat lukewarm.

I'm looking forward to albums by Kasabian, The View, Miles Kane, Fleet Foxes, Razorlight and Babyshambles. Hopefully Blur will record again and make an album or at least play some gigs again.

Received my Miles Kane album last week, pretty decent effort.

Anyone else recommend good albums released this year?

PJ Harvey's "Let England Shake"

Probably her best album yet and I would say that this one will be making alot of best of 2011 lists at the end of the year.

Saw her on Jools Holland recently and wasn't that impressed.

Bread and Circuses by The View is still the best album I've heard so far this year.

What is everyone elses favourite album of the year so far?

Not been a great year so far I don't think.

Just thought I'd share the music from some friends of mine, Outbox, who had their latest single make it into the top 20 in the Scottish Charts, and number 4 in the Independent singles chart.

I met them whilst I was Assistant Director on a previous music video, and they're a great bunch. The song was for charity as well, with a percentage of sales going to the Cash for Kids charity. I think the song is pretty damn catchy, and made sure I bought it myself!

Here it is then, Blame it on the Fear by Outbox (apologies for the cheesy intro and radio presenter nonsense in the video!)

I'll paint this place maroon!

I will need to check it out tomorrow as my Internet connection at home is rubbish. Only have standard GPRS connection.

No worries, the video is pretty terrible and cheesy - but it was all for charity. I rate them pretty highly, and not just because I know them! I'm not the biggest music fan, in terms of keeping up to date with everything and following new bands etc., but to me their music sounds just as good as most I hear on the radio throughout the day.

As you have maybe seen from a lot of posts on here music is probably my main passion. A lot of my threads on here are about music like my current A-Z series.

Yeah I noticed, the same way in which film is mine - good to have a mix of passions. I appreciate music, and people who love it - I mean my mum has a band and my dad teaches guitar, so I can't escape it!

When you get the chance, here is the video I was Assistant Director on - I even make a guest appearance, more than once (against my will!) -
