Torsten Frings to Rangers?

Quote

Former Germany international midfielder Torsten Frings is still undecided on his future, and is likely to make a switch to Rangers instead of retiring as first planned.

According to Bild, the 34-year-old ex-Werder Bremen captain, who is currently a free agent after being released by the Green-Whites, is believed to be interested in a switch to Ibrox.

Heard that yesterday, now confirmed - http://news.bbc.co.u..._medium=twitter

£2m for Goodwillie? Worth it? I think in the current climate, for a striker and someone contracted for another couple of years, it's probably about right. The only issue is off the field I think.

I agree Laurie. Two million for a player who has proved himself over the last couple of years to be a good quality striker with the real potential to be an outstanding striker looks like decent business to me.
However if Goodwillie has struggled in his private life to deal with the pressures of playing for Dundee United, playing for Rangers could easily destroy him and his undoubted potential.

I think it's a gamble worth taking although there has to be some conditions related to his current rape charges especially as he is being represented by a particularly dodgy QC.

Gers have also been in talk with Villa to bring back defender Carlos Cuellar. And as Big Eck is looking for a keeper, some reports have suggest that McGregor could be going the other way.

You are right in that Big Eck wants to keep Cuellar. However with the departure of Friedel to Spurs and with only Brad Guzan and Andy Marshal as the only first team keepers, Villa are in serious need of a GK. I'm sure Guzan is a nice guy but he is certainly not a 1st choice keeper in the EPL, don't know much about Marshall to comment.

Eck might be able or want to use Cuellar + cash (?) to bring in McGregor, who would do the business for Villa in the nets.

I'm guessing that Man City will be paying majority of whatever wage he is on if he comes.

I imagine he aint on huge wages, compared to the rest of the team, and City will be happy to pay them - just look at Bellamy going to Cardiff rather than another Premiership side.

Never seen the guy play so I'm only making this comment from what I know, but he was only 3rd choice at Leeds when on loan from Eastlands when they were in League 1, so not sure how great he is.

Maybe decent though!

Craig Conway looks like he's off to Cardiff then, surprised as I thought he was perfect for Rangers.
