Wales lost 0-1 at home to Costa Rica.
None of our rivals managed a win so I still think that group will be tight and we stand as good a chance as anyone else. I still think we can win group.

Not a easy group that is for sure but i think being Scottish we are use to it by now.
We have had alot of good young players break into the international scene over the last few years and with a fully fit squad i think we are more than capable of topping the group!

I'm glad someone agrees with me. I'm known on here as being overly optimistic.

Scotland are defensively weak at the moment even with the Premier pairing of G.Caldwell C.Berra, but its improving all the time. With Berra becoming a goal threat too. I think Danny Wilson will make a regular appearance at centre-back in next two years..
We just dont have an automatic replacement for David Weir. At full back we are sound in Hutton, Bardsley and Wallace with Charlie Mulgrew who has lots of promise.
MIDFIELD:
Its been a couple of decades since we qualified as a formality, but its also been a couple of decades since the Scotland Boss could choose his midfield from Liverpool, Manchester Utd, Aston Villa etc. Adam, Fletcher, Bannan, Morrison at West Brom, Brown at Celtic..We are blessed with top drawer players out wide..Forrest, Snodgrass, Phillips, McFadden, Naismith, Commons all great at scoring and creating goals.
ATTACK.
I would describe our best forwards as absent as in Steve Fletcher and Ross McCormack who should be squad regulars..
Ever reliable Kenny Miller is getting a bit and Jordan Rhodes is about to fill his shoes.
I still wonder why Craig McKail-Smith is picked over Ross McCormack.
If Scotland close the gaps in central defence then we can win this group.

Hopefully Gordon gets playing 1st team football again regularly. I'd also like to see someone left footed at left back. Bannan will hopefully develop in to a first team starter. I've not seen Phillips play so don't know how good he is.
