I play pitch and putt at the university near me every week, but I'm having my annual shot at a full size course today. Me and a few guys(and girl) from work are taking the day off to hit a wee White ball about.

I haven't used a driver since last year, and even then, I only used it for that one round, so it could be interesting.

I did hit one drive that chipped up in the air like I had used a wedge. I looked out ahead of my and had no idea where the ball had went, until it dropped down about 30 yards in front of me. Other than that, it was ok.

Craig you should try sticking to a 3W for a while before trying the driver. I'm still shit with a driver, but not so bad with the slightly shorter club.

I only get the driver out once a year, but you could be right

Never use a driver . Always a 3 wood . For all the distance you are gaining , which lets face it is negligible unless you are an excellent player the 3 wood offers a lot more control .
