And if that happened again this year (Falkirk having already disposed of Rangers this season) it would be rather similar to when Hibernian beat Celtic in December 2003 in the quarter final of the League Cup, then Rangers in January 2004 in the semi final of the League Cup, only to lose the final to Livingston.

Sunday 29th January: Falkirk v Celtic at 3pm.
Both at Hampden Park.

BBC Scotland will broadcast live television coverage of Falkirk v Celtic in the Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final.
The tie will be played at Hampden on 29 January, with a 1500 GMT kick off.
The match will also be streamed live on the BBC Sport website, while BBC Radio Scotland will provide commentary.
First Division Falkirk have beaten League Cup holders Rangers and Dundee United en route to the last four of this season's tournament.
Celtic, who last won the trophy in 2009, have beaten Ross County and Hibernian.
Ayr United meet Kilmarnock in the other semi-final, to be played at Hampden on Saturday 28 January, with a 1300 GMT kick off.
