SSN are reporting that Trapattoni has signed a contract extension to stay with the Republic of Ireland until 2014 World Cup, As he has got them to the Euro Finals I think this is a good move by them to tie him down until this tournament

He definitely deserves the extension. Is his contract still being funded by an individual, or was that a rumour?

Disappointed in this to be honest. He's turned Ireland into quite a boringly defensive team to watch. Yes it's got them successfully the Euros, but I'm somewhat worried they're going to turn up at that tournament, bore us to death, and go out in the group stages.

He was hired to get Ireland there and he has succeeded. There's every chance they will be knocked out in the group stages but that's more to do with the talent Trappatoni has at his disposal than the way he sets them up. He looked at his squad and made his mind up to play a certain way to reach the finals, and it worked.
You have to be in it to win it, there isn't a Scotland fan around who isn't jealous of the fact Ireland are going and we aren't. I wish Trappatoni had done such a negative job for us..........and got us to our first finals for 14yrs
