I've ended up in Paddy Power trying to win some of Grumpy's money back. The reason being that jury duty has been delayed till 2pm. Anyway I just managed to get a forecast up so I'm pleased with that. 2+3 at Hall Green 12:32 race.

If you can give me a winner of a race or football game I can guarantee you a minium of 8 doubles.

Barca to win tonight is my tip ;)

I know nothing about greyhounds. Nothing at all.

greyhounds unfortunatley are one of the hardest bets out...there is no accounting for them heading for rails or going wide and colliding with each other, whether they are 1-5 favs or 10-1outsiders

but as it happens i've managed a decent return over the years by sticking to a cpl of simple bets...whenever i go into the bookies and there is a dog race just going off i'll do a £2 R/F on 1 and 4.....it's lost more than won, but the returns have meant i'm in profit, from around a tenner minimum to over £70 on occasion.

You dont have to know anything about the dogs. It is simple. Say you know a certain horse or football team is going to win. Is there any such thing as a certainty? Answer is no. So it is still a gamble. If you bet say Red Rum to win the 3.30 wherever, and you double it with every dog in every race at a dog meeting then if RR wins you are guaranteed 8 doubles. If you are betting £1 doubles it will cost £48, but the dogs are notorious for returning long odds winners. Do the sums. £48 on the nose may give a better return it depends on RRs odds. You could double RR with 2 dog meetings.

certainly unconventional, but i see the merits

if you can get an average of 3/1 winner on the dogs then you have £4 going on the horse/football 8 times...if that "runner can be at worse even money then you'll get £64 back for your £48 (if i've done sums correctly)...over 6 days and your nearly £100 in profit

one other thing to remember....get to the bookies for opening time to get the 48 slips written in time...

It can be written on the one slip  but the main thing is pick a winning horse or team.
