Finally Murray has seen sense and hired someone who could help guide him to that all elusive slam win having won eight himself. Lendl was a big powerful player with a great serve, it would be good to add that to Andy's game, particularly the serve but more so the mental strength required.

I have a sneaky feeling 2012 is going to be the year Andy wins his first Grand Slam

Has Lendl coached anyone before? I know he was a great player in his day but coaching is very different.

he did win quite a few Grand Slams as well as spending 3 or 4 years as world number 1 (the only Slam he didn't win was Wimbledon.....and I think only about 4 or 5 men have won all 4 slams.....off to google lol)

7 have done it in total but only three in my lifetime.......Agassi, Federer and Nadal.

p.s. and Lendl won 8 Slams in his career.....not too shabby ;-)

They are well matched Lendl rarely smiled either..He was a great player with a scary service. Should help Torn Faced Murray to improve his game. A Grand Slam this year ? Not confident, the three guys above him in the rankings are better players, yes he has beaten all of them previously but not when it really matters.

I think Murray has probably gone for Lendl to help him with the mental side of things when it comes to Grand Slam finals.
