I took it as thinking out of the box and being able to also come up with players who played with more than one SPL club......I also thought it was just a bit of fun

Yeah it is a bit of fun. A lot of teams though have mainly Celtic or Rangers players though but with other clubs.

I'm just interested whether there is a thread for SPL eleven with no restrictions.

another thread could be an SPL XI with a only two players per club but the club has to be the one they are most associated with....i,e Goram (Rangers) Lambert (Celtic) etc. etc.
