Arbroath have described as "a major signing coup" the capture of Trinidad and Tobago striker Collin Samuel.
And the Scottish Second Division club have received international clearance to play for 30-year-old against Albion Rovers on Saturday.
Samuel, capped 24 times for his country, was most recently with Luton Town but had not played for the Conference side since September.
He played with Arbroath player-manager Paul Sheerin at St Johnstone.
Samuel, who began his career with Doc's Khelwalaas and San Juan Jabloteh in his homeland, was first brought to the UK by Falkirk in 2002.
He went on to play for Dundee United before heading to Toronto in Major League Soccer before returning to Scotland's top-flight with Saints.
However, Samuel was released last summer and was on trial with First Division Livingston during the summer before joining Luton, where he made only one appearance.

this is a massive signing for a club like Arbroath. He was a good player at United and St Johnstone and i'm sure he will still have some of his pace, despite his age.
