no employee would come out and tell the whole truth about an owner, that is clearly playing his cards close to his chest, especially when it would likely jeopardise their job

As above rules are rules not reprehensible at all they took him on when he was about to get thrown on the scrapheap at eighteen paid his wages, he got one game for Blackpool says it all, His offer from the club may not have been what he wanted but I cant remember any other clubs wanting to pay big bucks for his signature either.
So not good enough to play for Blackpool and no otger club wants him yet Aberdeen are right to aak for 200 000 for nurtering a player they didnt nurture . Dont think youve thought this through GG

Thats because they were nurturing him . They took as a kid and developed him into the first team player Aberdeen bought .

What it comes down to is the rules stated that Aberdeen were due compensation for the player, you might not like it but as I'm sure you've said yourself on a few occasions, they're the rules...unless of course that can only be said when it suits what your opinion is but surely not as that could be seen as being hypocritical ;-)

Really is that what ive said before ? Are you sure ? . Widne mind seeing some proof of that because i canny mind actually saying that . Could be wrong though . As you say they are the rules but we weren't talking about what they were entitled to do we were talking about what was morally correct . And it wasn't me who brought up football clubs morals . My personal opinion is that as with most companies morals go out it the window when filthy lucre is involved . Nothing hypocritical about that . More sensible and realistic i would have thought . I'm sure you would agree as you wouldn't want to be thought of as naive and idiotic ;)

Rules are rules, BOTH old firm teams are usually all over the rule book with their top lawyers to squirm out of things (Lennon;'s consecutive ban anyone?), it was nice for a non OF team to reverse the trend
