Besides, I'd rather they lost at home in midweek.

Saw Rangers do it again today actually. Foul committed in one half, free kick taken in the other half. One important difference though - Dundee United defended it. Which when it really comes down to it is the most important part.

Maybe he wanted to see if everyone was allowed to do it or just Rangers.
Doubt THAT very much...Chancer!...he saw an opportunity and thought he'd chance his arm!
BTW...1-1 noo

And I was highlighting the fact that unless you're moving it into a shooting position, it shouldn't actually matter. But then you dropped that bit from my quote.
I was laughing at it yesterday as Calum Murray made Charlie Mulgrew move a ball back about two feet. Very pedantic when you're talking about that scale of distance.

There you go, the whole quote. Dundee United defended it, therefore it did not matter where it had been taken from.

His red card was a bit harsh though. Don't think he saw the Hearts player coming for his second yellow.
Two excellent goals in the game, but once again I find myself moaning about referee Craig Thompson.

Not a handball for me. This unnatural position thing is a myth though, the rules don't say anything about that. It'd to do with intent, movement of hand towards the ball and how far the ball travelled to get to the hand.
I don't think there is any intent in this one, and his hand was up there, and the ball then hit it, as opposed to him throwing it towards the ball.
However, you do often see them given - which is a problem.
Never a red card either, completely accidental and he was just trying to kick the ball.
Overall I thought it was a relatively poor match. Hearts edging the first period and St Johnstone then playing better in the second. Neither side ever looked particularly dangerous, and we definitely need something else in attack. Skacel was anonymous - but we can't rely on him every week so I'd like to see more players step up to the plate.
Sheridan's introduction changed the game, and he took his goal well - although I thought it was dreadful defending from Zaliukas.
Have to be disappointed to lose a lead to ten men, especially in a home cup tie. But Saints merited the draw, so it was more than fair. As I've said on another thread, I'm far from confident in the replay - but because of Saints stronger away form I'll cling on to a glimmer of hope for now...
