Right straight answer please - do you think taking someone out using a 2 for 1 voucher is treating them?

There is no coupon being used on 5pm. All they do is source the best deals available.

If you are spending money on anyone it is treating them. Do you never buy stuff in the sales or use special offers?

Regarding the hotel deal we got it for £90 instead of £200. Why would you not go for cheaper option for same deal?

I see you've neglected to answer my question.

Btw Jay, I was just trying to pull your leg, jumping on the bandwagon so to speak. I'm siding with your view on this, if it costs you half as much to give yourself/your partner a treat then you can do it twice as often imo.

Would you still be going there if it was £200 - a simple yes or no will do.

In response to your question - different restraunts offer different things. If there were two McDonalds next to each other and one offered a discount and one didn't of course I'd go with the cheaper one.

Point is, you can't say completely different restraunts offer the same thing - to go somewhere solely because it's good value is a good indication that you, Jaybee, are indeed as tight as a ducks arse ;)

No, I wouldn't go as its not good value.

That is my main point. Why pay more for the same thing when you can get it for less. You've just answered the question saying you'd go for cheaper option so your argument has no logic.

It's not the same thing though.

I went to an expensive Italian the other night, which served different food and WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to say the one we went to when we first went out. Unless you're going to the same chain restraint/hotel then you aren't comparing like for like.

I think that's really poor you're only "treating her" because it's cheap. Poor show.

Everyone likes a deal but some take it too far.

Personally i wouldnt embarass myself with coupons for meals. A good night has a certain value to me & i wouldnt go out if i wasnt prepared to pay it. I would rather stay at home than look like a skinflint...good night or not.

So you went to an expensive restaurant where you can get a 3 course meal for £12?

5pm do not do coupons. They are an online booking service. I told you about it recently and you seemed impressed by some of the deals.

It's a poor show that you think you have to splash the cash to impress someone.

Do you buy Tesco Value products (or the equivalent) when you go shopping, and of not then why not?

You still don't get it. I'm talking about getting the exact same thing at the same restaurant for less money.

When I go shopping I buy stuff I like, sometimes it is on offer and sometimes it's not.

Erm if there's a discount available at a place were going to anyway then maybe.

There's a million miles difference between that and only going to a specific hotel or restraunt cause there's a discount there, mentioned this to a couple of girls over the last few days and they all agree with me.

I've mentioned it to other people and they see no great problem in going somewhere where they have a deal on. We do it almost every month at curry club.

Do people not realise that if you save money on the deal it gives you more money to spend on other things?
