Do you think if there wasn't Rangers then the sectarian element of Celtic would possibly subside, at least to an extent? Genuine question.
If there is no opposing 'side' to wind-up/rile then would it maybe change things? I know that my own club has its share of bigots, but it's not on the same scale.

I can still remember for years that I'd pretty much expect a 4 or 5 goal humping against the Old Firm, and rarely ever saw Hearts, or anyone, take points off of them.
Last week's hammering at the hands of Celtic was bad, but it was a shock to most people - and it wasn't ACTUALLY a very one sided game.
In the days of O'Neill we'd quite regularly be 3 or 4 goals down at half time to Celtic. These days we generally beat them at least once a season, and go to Ibrox and quite often get points.
The gap is still big, but both sides of the Old Firm quite regularly get a close match against other sides - in comparison to regular scores of 4,5,6 - even 8, goals to the good.
Totally agree. I had this very arguement with someone recently.

agreed, its a good point you make, he got away witht the maribor/malmo results and falkirk, but people gave him the benifit of the doubt as he was new, so fair enough, but even now with the club in this crisis, the players should have came out fighting for a win for the full house that turned up.

I have to say i think you are being a little unfair on your own team Jimmy, i watched the game that day and Utd were excellent and whatever tactic Ally would have had i doubt we would have been able to cope such was the power and pace of your team that day. As for the Killie game well i have not seen any of the match and i guess it would be to easy to blame it on the events of last week ???

Companies exist and operate within a Market. Like it or not, Rangers are a part of that market. If they cease to exist, the rest of the market stakeholders will inevitably have to cut their cloth accordingly.
let them both go to the great football league in the sky. If the absence of an old form game prevents 1 assault or 1 incidence of domestic violence, then good riddance to them both.

The Dog's Bollocks. Eh?? Who insulted you? You might disagree with me, but my post was not nonsense. It made perfect sense (at least to me when I re-read it). You just didn't agree with it.
