Heard it rumoured a couple of times. From one new town to another. It didn't work last time, I doubt it I'll work this time.

i had heard rumours jay....cumbernauld has been talking about it for a while...a loss to some in the town, and i've been down a few times to see them, but there has been friction with NLC for a wee while....as psycho says, basically failed in cumbernauld and cant see it taking off in EK either...although it might just be closer for some of the original bully wee fans....

I had heard rumours of problems in their current home, but nothing specific about east Kilbride.

The original home was at Shawfield wasn't it?

East Kilbride must be largest town not to have a football team in SPL/SFL setup.

Shawfield was home when I was a kid. East Kilbride was always the preferred next choice but the rug was pulled from under a deal at the last minute years ago and the gypsies started moving. Firhill, New Douglas Park, and Broadwood were new homes but EK has been rumoured on and off for years. A great catchment area with plenty of folk who are more associated with the origins of the club living nearby.

Clyde were always my favoured club for the argument against supporting my local team. Not withstanding that I moved a few times myself, when they moved to Cumbernauld they technically became my local team over Falkirk by distance! If I still lived there, then if they do move to EK my local team would end up being a choice of Stenhousemuir or East Stirling since Falkirk are now the other side of the town.
