Funnily enough the very few occasions that I have managed to stay up relatively late (11pm'ish) at the weekend I haven't witnessed any naughty behaviour ....that I recall anyway....................Posted Image

If a post is made, which is off topic, and purely there to provoke a reaction, should it be removed from the thread?

I would 2nd that motion.

Generally I stay clear of the obvious trolling titles, and the "serial provocateur's" posts as they bring nothing to the forum. Obviously, I do have read to make sure my suspicions are correct but I'd prefer they just weren't there as they are, literally, a waste of space.

No doubt many members do not read the forum on a daily basis, such as myself, and when catching-up it's extremely annoying when you come across a Trolling Thread posted simply to "draw blood" and antagonize.

As for the OP I do feel a reminder of our rules should be enough now and again. I don't think the FM Salmond reaction with full inquiry and an ammendum to rules is the way to go here. The rules are clear, they were broken and the appropriate punishment was given - end of.

There is very little that can be done from this happening again, as it will. The moderators can only learn from the experience and deal with it quicker and more effectively in the future.

I'd go as far as to delete threads started by someone obviously trolling. It's one thing poking a bit of fun but some threads on here are aimed at only one thing.......antagonising fellow posters, yet they are allowed to continue.

it is the 2 or 3 that spoil it for the rest so shouldn't be too hard to monitor.

I've said it before, where certain posts are made to draw blood they should be ignored no matter how much the urge is there to respond in some manner. Only then will the idiots move off and infect somebody else's site

Yes correct Elchappy, I ignore lots of posts that are very clearly made simply to antagonise.

I wouldn't delete, I'd lock and leave as an example to others.

Which sounds kinda like movie bad guy speak, but you know what I mean.
