The last few days have seen a number of heated debates that have resulted in threads being closed by Craig / Laurie. In fact the last few weeks have seen threads being closed something not experienced in the two years that I have been a member.
Craig has provided all of us with a first class forum that is free for all of us to use and enjoy. The running of the forum sees him out of pocket every week ! I ask myself why does he continue to do so.
Gentlemen is it time to stand back, reflect and support the forum in a proper way ? Sure we all can feel frustrated with some comments made by other members, get over it.
Numerous times I have said that any new members will never return on reading some of the rubbish that has been posted. Do we want to encourage new members ? Do we support the work that Craig does ? If the answere to these questions is a yes then lets all help to grow the forum in a proper way before it disintegrates.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright. Until you hear them speak

My missus said something to me when I told here what had been happening on SFF. Apart from agreeing that certain comments were disgusting on Saturday night and that sometimes there are members who always seem to look for a fight, she said 'what is it about you (as in me) that annoys certain people from time to time' Maybe I need to ask myself that question and reel myself in on occasions. I still stand by what I have said all along about language directed at individuals, but apart from that I do agree with the sentiments here that this is Craigs forum that he has invested a lot of time and effort and money to make it happen, he doesn't throw the 'this is my forum' line in anyones face, he always talks about it being our forum, and I guess a few of us do think it is our forum considering the time we have put in here, just look at the post count totals
I must try harder on SFF to turn the other cheek

nice to see you have moved on
I have struck a conciliatory tone today, ackonwledging my part in the lead up to events on Saturday, are you able to do the same??
and on that vein, can I remind you that I have answered your question on the heated debate thread, but you have yet to answer mine

sheep was trying to reflect on what has happened and it seems like he is trying to make an effort to turn the other cheek in future, so I dont think a comment, however jokey, is called for.

if anyone has an issue with the phrase turn the other cheek then I would be happy to rephrase and say that I will try and be more conciliatory in future, HOWEVER, I don't see anyone else stepping forward and reviewing their own behaviour in the lead up to Saturdays events, I wonder why that might be??
