Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed his regret at passing up the chance to sign Joe Hart for £100,000 earlier in his career.
Hart, 24, joined Manchester City from Shrewsbury in 2006 and has become England's first-choice goalkeeper.
But Ferguson told BBC Radio 5 live: "I could have bought Joe Hart for £100,000 so we all make mistakes."

aye that is a cracker of a story, shows fergie is not infallible, and the mark of the man (in a good way) that he admitted it, wonder what he's worth now eh??

It's man city, so they could refuse anything. I would put him low 20s, but not as high as 30

aye, dont think lindergaard or de gea are good enough yet, still young though, would have been good to keep van der sar in a coaching role maybe to help them out.

Ferguson has almost signed quite a few cracking players but let them slip away.
