I think this would be a great gesture and a chance for the fans to apologise to Mr McCann after the way he was treated when he unfurled the flag when he was in charge.I and thousands of others were guilty of believing in the hype of spending more than you could afford, the wee man was a economic visionary and should be asked to return a hero and a stand should be named after the man who saved Celtic, built the stadium, won us the league and passed the club on to people who could take it forward and guarantee our long term economic viability.Fergus I salute you and Im sorry and ashamed of booing you that day,I didnt understand what really was at stake that titles and trophies are not always the most important thing in Football.

Come on PL bring this true Celtic legend home once more to accept the adulation is he entitled to and unfurl the flag at the home that the "bunnet" built.

a lot of people forget the way they treated him, so I appreciate your admission that you were not a fan back in the day. It's easy to look back and see that error, but very few appreciated it at the time.

I'm not a Celtic fan, so my opinion will have no sway with the head honchos at Celtic Park, but any championship flag should surely be unfurled by the man that won it now, and not someone who is seen to be a legend for past deeds. I am not in any way making a prediction, but what if this is the only time the league is won for the next few years?

Who would normally be in line to unfurl the flag? Reid is gone and I cant remember who replaced him, but would it not be him?

Great Gesture but hardly be 'Dripping with Dignity' as the illustrious one would put it.

Im sure he would see straight through the hollow gesture for exactly what it is ........ ;)

I was amazed at how some fans treated him, he had a plan, and a timescale to do it, he reached that and kept his promises.

made some dosh for himself and seen us right, good for both parties.

if.....only kiddin.(tho still mathematically possible)...when celtic unfurl the flag instead of some chairman dude, would it not be very fitting for lennon to do it ,given the shit he's had to put up with in the time he's been at celtic....i think it should be managers that do it anyway (possibly with the club captain)

I quite agree but i suppose it is a little harsh on the guy who pumps all the money into the club, the manager and players already get the accolades from the fans when they win a cup or the league so maybe this is the chairmans little chance of glory.....so i suppose we cant really grudge them that honour.
