I've always liked Strachan. I liked him as a player though I'm too late for his time at Aberdeen. I find him honest and also rather witty especially when getting asked stupid questions. I also think many Celtic fans didn't appreciate him cause they still had a hard on for MON. Strachan had to build a brand new team due to most of the players that MON being at the end of their careers. He did this and helped reduced the budget while winning 3 in a row. He seems to be remembered more for not winning in his last season which I'd put down to the board not signing Steven Fletcher.

I saw GS playing for Aberdeen against Hamilton Acies. He was a wee naff that day, and what about that fantasMcGonagall effort to jump a perimeter Ad board in Mexico.

I like him as a pundit as he is straight talking. Got a bit smart-arsed dealing with the press during his time at Celtic, but then again who wouldn't when faced with inane questions from goons like Chick Young et al?

Celtic fans were divided on WGS, . However 2 things they are not divided on is that he won trophies whilst hugely reducing costs so in that respect he did well. Secondly, the football his teams played was dire. Yes I would rather have the trophies in the onion bag as the majority would, but from a platform of winning the league and the chance to improve the team's footballing element, the team actually regressed in seasons 2 and 3.

However, the memory of how the leagues were one fades with time and he will be remembered as a successful Celtic manager in my view

Very good points, but his teams did feast off MONs only to run out of steam.

he was pretty spiteful with Balde and got rid of the majority of MONs team in a disrespectful way at times. Also think he never played McGeady often enough to build his confidence at the early stage of his career . . .

You obviously follow Celtic much closer than most. It shows in your confidence and clarity in your comments regarding Celtic. Hope you don't mind me picking your brain in the future.

Would that be Chick 'get to the fecking point' Young? yes that is fair comment

It's also easy to forget some of the long lucrative contracts given out to certain players who were past their prime near the end of his tenure

have you started picking my brain already without my knowledge? I had a weird outage earlier when the Mrs asked me if I wanted a glass of vino and I said no . . .

for his columns, mostly one sided views. :)

I expect any player in the media to be one sided, it annoys me when they try not to be seems to make it worse.

Well six o'clock in the morning is a bit early. Next time she asks what shall we drink to? Say about four in the morning.
